  • How do I apply for finance?

    We have a quick and easy process which will take you a total of 10 minutes to complete.

    Click on our finance tab to complete the application form and once submitted one of our friendly consultants will contact you to discuss your application and gather any additional information if required.

  • What are the minimum requirements to get finance?

    Borrowers must:

    • Be 18 years old or over.
    • Have a NZ drivers license or overseas drivers licence and passport.
    • Have a NZ bank account.
    • Have an income of $550 per week (after tax) or greater.
    • Not have any significant unpaid defaults or previous bankruptcies.

    All loan is subject to the completion of an application form, successful responsible lending checks by a lender and fulfilling lending criteria.

  • How is loan eligibility determined?

    Lenders will look at a variety of factors when determining your loan eligibility, including your credit history, income and undertake responsible lending checks.

  • What are the interest rates?

    Interest rates are fixed for the life of the loan and lenders will offer competitive and personalised rates between 9.8% p.a. – 15.9% p.a.

  • What is the verification process?

    Once your application form has been completed on our website, the lenders will contact you to do the verification process.

    This process is an important step in your application as the information you provide is used to verify your income and employment information, perform responsible lending checks plus confirm your bank account. From time to time further income verification can be required.

    To submit your bank statements for the verification process you will be sent a secure link provided by Illion (a highly secure credit reporting body) to review your banking information. This process is the fastest and easiest way to provide information, and allows for your application to be processed quickly.

    This link will require you to provide your internet banking login details during the Illion process, neither Auto Choice or Illion sees or stores your internet banking credentials as they are encrypted when you enter them. Your bank will allow only the finance company read only access to your banking history, once completed its permanently deleted.

    Are there other options to send banking history?
    YES of course you can always provide us with your last three months of bank statements either upload the bank statement during the application process or send to us after the application has been filled out,

  • Why was my application declined?

    Our team will always try there best to help you There are a number of reasons why your application may have been declined.

    This may be that your income is not sufficient, your credit history is not suitable, or we have detected another issue with your application or banking information

  • How do I cancel my application?

    If you have not signed your electronic Loan Contract you are free to cancel your loan application by sending us an email.

  • Is Comprehensive car Insurance required?

    As a condition of lending, all of our finance providers require comprehensive Car insurance to be taken out by borrowers. Auto Choice works with Autosure and Go Cover insurance to provide competitive pricing for car insurance.

  • What is Payment Protection Insurance?

    Payment Protection Insurance covers loan repayments in cases where you may become totally disabled through accident or illness, or are made redundant (for employees) or declared bankrupt (for self-employed).

    In such cases, you are protected against having to make payments for the duration of the disability, or in the case of redundancy or bankruptcy for six months.

    Payment protection insurance is offered during the loan application process. The specific policy offered to you will depend on your employment situation. For more information, please click here to access Autosures policy documents.

  • What is Mechanical Breakdown insurance?

    Auto choice offers Mechanical Breakdown Insurance policies through Autosure. Autosure Mechanical Breakdown Insurance covers the reasonable cost to repair the actual failure of mechanical or electrical parts as a result of a sudden and unforeseen breakdown that occurs during normal use in New Zealand, unless otherwise excluded in the policy book.

  • What is a Guaranteed Asset Protection?

    Auto Choice offers Guaranteed Asset Protection Insurance policies through Autosure. Autosure Guaranteed Asset Protection Insurance (GAP) protects you against losses that may occur when your vehicle is declared a total loss and the total loss settlement amount paid by your vehicle insurer is less than the outstanding amount you owe to your financier for your vehicle loan. GAP can only be taken out at the time of the vehicle sale and can only be purchased in conjunction with a credit contract.
